SPARKFILL – KF
Cork Base, Non-Extruding Type Concrete Joint Filler
Conforms to ASTM D-1751-71, AASHTO M-213-74 & M-153 Type II, ANSI A37, 113/1964 and FEDERAL SPECS HH-F341e, Type I
SPARKFILL – KF is a pre-molded rigid impregnated cork board with a durable asphaltic compound and first class asphalt saturated felt. Its resilience and compressibility enable it to deform under pressure with no extrusion and almost total recovery as applied pressure is removed.
Standard dimension : 3 ft. x 10 ft. Thickness : 6 mm., 10 mm., 12 mm., 20 mm., 25 mm., 50 mm. and others
SPARKFILL – RF
Elastomeric Rubber Joint Filler
Conforms to ASTM D-2628
SPARKFILL – RF is a non-extruding rubber base joint filler made from vulcanized polychloroprene rubber in between a durable asphaltic compound and first class asphalt saturated felt. Its resilience and compressibility enable it to deform under pressure with no extrusion and almost total recovery as applied pressure is removed.
Standard dimension : 3 ft. x 10 ft. Thickness : 6 mm., 10 mm., 12 mm., 20 mm., 25 mm., 50 mm. and others
SPARKFILL – SRF
Sponge Rubber Expansion Joint Filler
Conforms to ASTM D-1752 Type I, AASHTO M-153 Type I and CORPS OF ENGINEERING CRD C-509 Type I
SPARKFILL – SRF is a black colored material which blends well with concrete. It is composed of a high quality sponge rubber of uniform density and thickness. it is highly resistant to water absorption and has a density of not less than 40 lbs. per cubit foot.
SPARK – SRF (Sponge Rubber Filler) is used in concrete surfaces where high resilience is required or where a color blend with concrete is desired. It is readily compressible with a recovery of 95% or more of its original thickness. Because of its recovery quality, it is frequently used on bridge structures and sewage treatment plants that undergo rapid changes in temperature.
Areas of application for SPARKFILL KF / RF / SRF :
Excellent as an expansion joint material for driveways, aprons, sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
Excellent as filler in structural joints such as abutments, piers, retaining walls, plain or reinforced concrete structures.
Excellent as an expansion joint material in highways, airport runways and streets.
EXPANDACORK
EXPANDACORK Type II complies with ASTM 1752 and ASTM D545
EXPANDACORK Type III complies with ASTM 1752 and ASTM D545
Designed to fill the gaps left between expansion joints in concrete slabs, EXPANDACORK absorb the vibrations, expansions and contractions caused by heat in the different construction materials. The dilation joints enable the movement of structures without causing damage and ensuring these spaces are always filled. Thus, they are commonly applied in tunnels, water storage and supply systems, aqueducts, dams and airports.
The additional advantages of cork, such as its high durability and resilience and its resistance against water, oil and acid turn EXPANDACORK into a unique resource due to both sustainability and technical performance.
The advantages of EXPANDACORK to the construction industry. The materials incorporated into the manufacture of EXPANDACORK are especially developed to absorb expansions and the contractions inherent to concrete buildings. The product’s unique flexibility enables not only its easy deployment but also its capacity to resist and without any deterioration, the continuous deformations caused by different climate conditions and thermal ranges while always ensuring the joint remains appropriately filled.
Technical Specifications :
Compression : 50% of initial thickness with a load of between 0.35 MPa and 10.35 MPa (50 to 1500 psi).
Recovery : 90% of original thickness following 50% compression, EXPANDACORK attains 95%.
Extrusion : There is a maximum extrusion level beyond the joint of 6.35 mm. (1/4″) when subject to 50% compression.
Resistance to HCl : Submerged into boiling HCl, EXPANDACORK does not disintegrate.
Expansion : Submersed in boiling water for the period of one hour, EXPANDACORK Type III self-expanding cork expands by less than 40% of its original thickness.
Dimensional Variation : EXPANDACORK Self-Expanding Cork Type III does not display any sign of degradation even after the simulation of ten cycles of ageing and continues to completely seal the joint.
SPARK BACKER ROD
Polyethylene Foam Joint Filler
Conforms to ASTM D-544 Type I and AASHTO M-153 Type I
SPARK BACKER ROD is a joint sealant backing rod manufactured from low density, cross linked, closed cell expanded polyethylene foam. it is a compounded mixture f polyethylene resin, blowing agents, filler and binder carefully formulated and extruded into a flexible, compressible, resilient, lightweight solid material.
